Ibn Taimiyah Foundation Academy, Inc. was honored to host the esteemed visit of Ms. Azuka Ishizaka, the First Secretary of Japan Embassy, on February 13, 2024. The visit, which commenced at 8:30 am, was met with great enthusiasm by the school’s top management, including School President Zulcarnain I. Garay, MPA, and school consultant Ustadz Abdulkadir S. Garay, along with the school’s employees, staff, faculty, and students.
The primary objective of Ms. Azuka’s visit was to assess the current status of the JICA building, which was donated by the Japanese government 12 years ago through the J-bird project in 2009, and to strengthen the collaboration between Japan and the school in order to plan for future projects. Accompanied by the School Director and member of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Dr. Ombra A. Imam, and Dr. Daturaiz Mamadra, a BOT member, Ms. Azuka embarked on a tour of the school. The significance of the Japan Embassy’s support in the school’s development was evident, and the visit served to reaffirm the enduring impact of this assistance.
A poignant moment occurred during the visit as students waved DIY flaglets of Japan and the Philippines, symbolizing the strong bond and collaboration between the two nations in peace-building. The sight served as a testament to the goodwill and harmony fostered by the enduring partnership between Japan and the Philippines.
The visit concluded with a sense of optimism for the future, as both parties discussed potential avenues for further collaboration and projects. The school expressed its gratitude to Ms. Azuka Ishizaka and the Japan Embassy for their enduring support and looked forward to continuing their fruitful partnership.
